What is the different between Kiidu and other agencies?

We are an online platform to connect parents with the nanny, maid, tutor, senior caregivers so you can communicate with us from anywhere at your convenience and you don’t need to come to our office, either staying at home or office, Kiidu will serve you a good service.

Parents can check, select, book and interview online. As a connector, we conduct transparency between the parents and nannies, maids, drivers and senior caregivers.

Does Kiidu guarantee the helper, if the helper can't get well with the family?

Of Course, we give a guaranty based on the subscription, you take!

You can contact us and ask for help. We will assist you as long as your subscription is still valid. 

 

How long does Kiidu take to find suitable candidates based on the requirements?

For fasting request, we encourage customers to check our online profiles, bookmark it or book for an interview! 

After we receive the requirements, we will send the profile in the same day or It depends on the location and other requirements but however It might take times if the requirements are quite difficult.

Can I hire a nanny without paying the subscription? 

Unfortunately, you can't hire our full time or part-time nanny, maid, driver or senior caregiver without paying the subscription fee. The subscription fee is included in the processing and administration fee.

You can hire our on-demand nanny and maid without paying the subscription.

 

How does the system work?

As a parent just getting started with Kiidu. You don"t need to pay the subscription fee!

Just simply "search for sitter based on your preferences for one-time, recurring, full time or last-minute job to the board.

How do I signup for Kiidu as a parent?

As a parent, you can easily sign up for Kiidu using your existing Facebook or Linkedin account, we encourage parents to use their social media to allow you to discover amazing babysitters recommended by your friends and colleagues and also leverage your social network to customize your experience. We only access basic account information including name, photo, location, and social connections. We respect your privacy and do not post anything on your account without your permission.

Can I register without using Facebook?

You can sign up without your social media but we do encourage parents to use their social media to build parent's community and help other parents finding amazing babysitters.

How do I reset my password?

Please press reset button then It will show 2 options as below!

Please check if you have the right phone format +country code + your number(without zero after the country code).

If you put your right email address and phone number, you will get a code from us and you need to add the code to the system.

How do I choose a babysitter?

When you make an online Babysitter Request, you will be shown profiles of available babysitters to choose from. You can then click on a link ask one or several babysitters of your choice to babysit for you. The babysitter(s) you are asking will accept or decline the request, and you will be notified by email or text.

Do we need to make an interview and how?

It is your decision if you would like to make an interview before hiring the candidate. Our team also can interview the candidate based on your requirements.

You can do an online interview or face to face interview either in your house or an other place. 

What questions should I ask during the nanny interview?

  1. specifically about their experience with children, references, certificate, education and her previous jobs.
  2. About her lifestyle, so you will be able to get to know your nanny personally, her interests and hobbies
  3. Caregiving style, example "What does being a nanny mean to you?” "How would you help homework, meal time, bath time exciting or easier for a child who doesn't like it?"
  4. Health questions

Will your company take the responsibility for any problems while the nanny working with our family?

As a platform or connector we are not responsible for the acts, conduct, or omissions of Customer or any of the nanny, tutor, senior caregiver, caregiver, maid, or driver arising out of any referral provided.

We will provide the replacement based on your subscription. Please check our  Limitation of Liability

Can the babysitter cancel the request after being confirmed?

Yes, the babysitter may cancel a confirmed request after accepting. We strongly ask our babysitters to do this only in case of emergency. If it happens, you will receive an email notification with a link to the request on the site showing other available babysitters, and you can request another babysitter, or cancel the request, or contact us if time is too short, and we'll try to accommodate you.

Can I change a request or delete it after I submit it?

No. We find it preferable that you cancel the request and create a new one, so you preserve the history of what's happened.

How do I cancel a Sitter Request?

Log in to your Client Account. In your menu, select Client Booking List. Then click on Confirmed to see your confirmed babysitter bookings. There is a Cancel option for each request.

What if I can't find a babysitter?

When our calendar matching system can't find any available babysitters, it notifies us immediately. You also have the option to send us a message with any details you deem necessary. If you do contact us, we'll try to find a suitable babysitter for you.

Should I tip babysitters?

Tips for babysitters are optional and appreciated but definitely not expected. Babysitters should expect to earn the agreed-upon hourly rate for their sitting jobs and be paid by cash or transfer to their account at the end of the job. Families should never feel obligated to tip their babysitters.

Do families need to make a working contract for their nanny/maid?

Transparency is always good, in order to avoid any inconveniences in the future, we recommend the family to prepare the contract between their nanny and the family. Kiidu can help to provide a template and the family can modify it themselves.

Employment contract

What should be written in the working contract for the nanny?

Families who hire nannies should agree on whether they are living in or out of the house and this should be clearly stated. Before accepting a position, a nanny should feel comfortable in the prospective family’s environment, such as working days, working hours, job duties and responsibilities, public holiday, overtime, paid holiday, sick leave and bonus. It is important for nannies to sit down with their future employers and discuss expectations on both sides and what their job entails. This will prevent disagreements and tension later. But most nannies experience great professional and personal satisfaction in their jobs.

Does a family need to give a bonus to the nanny or maid?

Offering a bonus is an individual’s choice and may differ from family to family. It should be given after a year at least,  to their nanny as a gift of recognition. By doing that, the nanny will consider working for the family for a longer period of time. It can be cash bonuses and can be ranged from small to large amounts – up to two weeks’ worth of wages. It depends on their specific budget and how well they believe that their nanny has performed throughout the year.

 

Can I request my nanny to work 24 hours? 

  • There are families who require 24hour cover - in such cases, we always recommend to hire 2 nannies doing shift work, It is to make sure your nanny gets plenty of time to rest too.
  • 24-hour shifts are very hard and every good employer will realize they either have to compensate for this time of work with a greater salary or allowing your nanny plenty of time off. No one would want an exhausted nanny to care for their children.
  • It is also against the labour law.
  • 24/7 shifts must be compensated with sufficient time off.

 

How many days does the nanny/maid get paid holiday?

It is based on Thai law, that the nanny and maid are entitled to at least one day off each week. If the employer needs them to work on the weekend they should pay it as overtime. In addition, the employer needs to give 13 traditional paid holidays a year, six days paid annual leave after one year of employment, and three days of paid sick leave a year.

 

Can I hire a Filipino to work as a nanny, tutor, senior caregiver or maid?

Finding the perfect nanny can be difficult sometimes, especially in Bangkok where problems regarding the langguange barriers, different work ethics and differences in expectations may arise.

Therefore It may be consideres that hiring Filipino nannies maybe the best solution to all of these problems. As they are known to be familiar with the western work ethic and have one of the better english speaking capabilities, as the Phillippines is the third largest English speaking nations. Hiring a filipino nanny would aradicate a lot of problems with finding. suitable nannies in Bangkok. However, certain problems arise.

Firstly, It is illegal for a Filipino to work officially as domestic helper in Thailand. Therefore, any Filipino who aims to work in Bangkok for a long period of time, would either have to possess an education visa or work visa which is sponsored by other visa agency.

We don't sponsor or visa for domestic helpers.

Basically Filipino have mostly a tourist visa which she needs to do a visa run monthly.

Work permit for Filipino only can be sponsopred by an embassy, International organization or a company.

Due to tourist visa, We can't conduct a police criminal check for Filipino.
 

The Thai labour law

The Labour Protection and Welfare Department warned that employers would be fined up to 20,000 baht if they failed to give their maids/nannies at least one day off each week or do not pay them during their entitled sick leave. Employers could face a jail term of up to six months and/or a fine of 100,000 baht if they failed to pay wages to their maids/nannies who worked on official holidays.
